The RECODE covers a wide range of interests from prevention to care and from biomarkers to policies.

The RECODE aims to overcome Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders by recoding the risk factors including genetics, lifestyle, and related medical (hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, chronic kidney disease, and etc.), neurologic (cerebrovascular diseases, Parkinsons’ disease, and etc.), ocular (age-related macular degeneration, normal pressure glaucoma, and etc), and mental disorders (mood disorders, sleep disorders, and etc.).


The RECODE is based on the Department of Psychiatry, Seoul National University Bundang Hospital and Seoul National University College of Medicine, and Department of Brain and Cognitive Science, Seoul National University College of Natural Sciences, and has a multidisciplinary team including medical doctors, neuroscientists, neuropsychologists, nurses and graduate students.


‌Most of our research are supported by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of Education, but also by various other agencies.
